The smoke alarms don't notify the fire department by themselves.

In case of a false alarm

1. Make sure that there really is no smoke.
2. Press the big center of the smoke detector for a few seconds to silence it and disable smoke detection & sound for the next 10 minutes.

The smoke alarms are sealed, if you remove it, a specialist company will have to come and restore the seal. You would then have to pay the costs.
