If you don't study at Uni Münster or FH Münster, you can get a payment card from the Studieredenwerk Münster. Please check there for more infromation.

How to add money to my Student ID Card or MensaCard?

You have several options top up your MensaCard or Student ID Card

• At a Card Reload Machine
  • Money source: Cash
  • Fee: None
  • Location: At many Mensa and Bistro locations operated by Studieredenwerk Münster. Closest locations:
    • FHZ, at the entrance to Bistro Denkpause
    • Mensa am Ring, at the staircase in the big hall
  • Instructions:
    • Place your card on to the card reader of the machine
    • Insert cash into the machine
    • Remove your card from the reader and place it again to add more cash
• Using online payment
  • Money source: Credit Card from Visa or Mastercard. (They don't accept anything else)
  • Fee: None

  • Additional info
    • Account registration required
    • You need to refresh the page if you try to increase your card balance to a value over 60 €. The maximum card balance is 60 €.
• At a mensa checkout desk
  • Money source: Cash (maybe: EC card / giro card and common credit cards)
  • Fee: 0,25€
  • Location: At all Mensa and Bistro locations operated by Studierendenwerk Münster
  • Additional info: The cashiers might not be fluent in English

Troubleshooting

• The balance is limited to 60€. If you try to add more money, the process will fail.
• After the card balance has been increased, the new balance will be credited when the card is next used. Sometimes it is necessary to manually check the card account balance (see next question) in order to synchronize the new balance.

How to check my card account balance?

Hold your card on to the card reader of a reload station or washing payment machine without clicking anything on the touchscreen. If you added money online, this can help to synchronize the new card balance.

How to get inside the washing room?

The door is a little complicated.

1. hold your transponder onto the reader below the door handle
2. wait until it beeps briefly
3. turn the door knob + pull the door at the same time.

How to use the washing machine?

1. Put the laundry in to the machine
2. Add your detergent (soap) into the designated tray
3. When the display is off: Press the start button ⏻.
4. Select the program. You can change the menu language.
5. Close the door
6. There is a payment machine in the room. Select the number of your machine on the touchscreen and hold your Mensa card or student card against the card reader for several seconds.
7. Press the "Start" button on the washing machine
8. Your machine is now running. The display will now show how many minutes it will take for your machine to finish. Please set a timer on your phone, as it is essential that you collect your laundry on time. If you pick up your laundry too late, others can take your laundry out and put it somewhere in the laundry room.
   

How to use the tumble dryers?

1. Put the laundry in to the machine

   • Eject the filter inside the door by pulling it from the top. Remove the dust and put the dust into the trash bin in the room.
   • Eject the two small filters in the lower door frame. You can twist the knob to fix or relase them. Remove the dust and put the dust into the trash bin in the room.
   • Insert all filters again
