What is the best way to receive parcels?

Most parcel carriers do not deliver to your room, but only to the doorbell.

If you are unable to accept your parcel, it will either be redirected to a locker or store for collection or left in the hallway. Unfortunately, there have been many cases in the past where parcels have been stolen from the hallway.
We therefore recommend that you always send to a parcel locker.
You can also set up permanent parcel forwarding to a parcel locker for DHL.

What is a parcel locker?
A parcel locker is a secure, self-service storage unit used for receiving and storing packages. It is typically available 24/7, allowing recipients to pick up their parcels at any time that suits them. Access often requires a unique code, QR scan, or a dedicated app provided by the courier service. This makes parcel lockers a convenient and flexible solution for deliveries, especially for people with busy schedules.

For DHL / Deutsche Post parcels:
They call their parcel locker "Packstation".

DHL Packstation 106
DHL Packstation 174
DHL post office 622 (in the Rüschhaus kiosk)

You need a DHL account and the DHL app for permanent parcel forwarding, as well as a PIN, which you will receive by letter after registration.

Amazon
Amazon has their own parcel locker: Amazon Locker Yared https://maps.app.goo.gl/kkzv4vkuBoeTNzMd6
